Hey Gang: We need support at the Lowell City Council meeting on Tuesday night at 6:30pm, at City Hall on Arcand Drive. The Council is bringing a petition on behalf of one of Lowell's citizens to change the route of the Baystate Marathon and we need to show the city how important the event is to everyone, and that changing the route would be detrimental. ... Half Marathon Course

The Half Marathon consists of a double loop course. The loop starts at the Tsongas Center and ends after the second loop at back at the Tsongas Center

Water Stops for Half Marathon (approx. mileage from course start):

The half marathon starts at the corner in front of the Tsongas Center (the intersection of Fr. Morissette Boulevard and Arcand Drive). Half marathon runners start on the right side of the road (full marathoners start on the left side of the road). The runners go west. along Fr. Morissette Blvd, which turns into Pawtucket Street., which turns into Middlesex Street. Runners will take a right onto the Rourke Bridge and take right onto Route 113. At Aiken Street the runners turn right and cross the Aiken Street Bridge. At LeLacheur Park runners turn left onto Perkins Street. At the end of Perkins Street runners turn right onto Suffolk Street.

On the first loop, at the end of Suffolk Street, runners turn right back onto Fr. Morissette Blvd, which changes into Pawtucket Street and then Middlesex Street. Again the runners will take a right onto Rourke Bridge and a right onto Route 113. At Aiken Street the runners again turn right and cross the bridge. At LeLacheur Park the runners again turn left onto Perkins Street and proceed to the end of Suffolk St.

On the second loop, at the end of Suffolk Street the runners this time turn left onto Fr. Morissette Blvd and make the short run to Arcand Drive where they turn left into the finish area.

Distance: 13.1 miles.
